What is the purpose of the program?

The Office of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement of the Florida Highway Patrol carries out enforcement and education programs for Florida's commercial vehicle carriers and drivers.

What services does the program provide?

Troopers conduct driver/vehicle safety inspections; post-crash inspections; weight, size and registration enforcement; compliance investigations; new entrant safety audits; hazardous materials carrier assessments; traffic enforcement; drug interdiction and public awareness education.

How well does the program perform?

In Fiscal Year 2021-22, the office conducted 91,107 commercial motor vehicle inspections and 270,016 registration transactions, including registrant audits, as part of its oversight and regulatory functions for Florida's trucking industry.
